At the beginning of 19th century (pre-1830s),
• only men over 21 y/o & own a certain amount of properties can vote
• These voters are also referred to as the “franchise”
• In 1918, voting franchise was extended to women ≥ 30 y/o
• In 1928, men and women ≥ 21 y/o can vote
• In 1969, voting age was reduced to 18 of all gender
