What was unfair/harsh about the Treaty of Versailles?

A
  • Germany didn’t actually start the war so they shouldn’t have to accept full war guilt.
  • Germany were left with very little army or weapons to defend themselves.
  • Germany had to pay £6.6 billion in reparations and they couldn’t afford this.
  • Britain and France were taking money for their own benefit.
  • Germany lost her overseas empires whilst France and Britain were building theirs.
  • Germany agree to a ceasefire, they didn’t actually surrender, so neither side won.
