Clemenceau wanted security, compensation, revenge and to cripple Germany

What did Britain want out of the Treaty?
Lloyd George wanted to impose reparations but not cripple Germany, this would make France too powerful

- Paid for the army in the Rhineland
- To build over 200,000 tonnes of shipping a year for allies
- Hand over merchant ships over 1,600 tonnes
- Hand Over 1/4 of fishing boats
