Describe the particle arrangement in a solid:
They are arranged in a regular lattice structure and are packed closely together. The particles vibrate and cannot move around. They have strong forces of attraction that keep them together.
Describe the particle arrangement in a liquid:
Particles are still mostly touching, but some gaps appear. The particles can move around each other because the force between the particles is less effective. The particles in a liquid are arranged randomly.
Describe the particle arrangement in a solid:
The particles in a gas move at a high speed in all directions. There are (almost) no forces of attraction so the particles are much further apart.
Particles in a solid have less kinetic energy than the particles in a liquid, which have less kinetic energy than the particles in a gas

You cant walk through a brick wall because of the strong forces of attraction between the particles

You can swim through water because you can push the particles out of the way
