The Three Fundemental Process required for learning Flashcards
Definition of Memory
processing, storing and retrieval of info through learning, often described as neurological representation of learning
Summary of the Process of Memory
Incoming sensory info–> ENCODING (infor is converted to)–> STORAGE (info is retained in memory)–> RETRIVEAL (info is received from memory when needed)
Stage 1: Encoding
conversion of info into useable forms so that it can be neurologically represented and stored in memory.
–> it comes first cuz it occurs at the same time as learning. Its through encoding that he brain can AQUIRE and represent incoming sensory info int useable form
stage 2: Storage
retention of the encoded info over time
stage 3: Retrieval
recovery of stored info and bringing it back into conscious awareness for use.
