The Thorax, Heart and Abdomen Flashcards
What is the Coronary Sinus and where does it drain?
AKA atrioventricular sulcus
Venous branch draining myocardium
Drains into R.atrium
Supples myocardium, papillary muscles and conducting tissue
Arises from aortic arch above valve
What is the Fossa ovalis?
(Foramen ovali remnant)
Hole between r. and l. ventricles
What are the 2 inner ancient structures of the atria and ventricles?
Atris -> musculi pentani -> anterolaterally
Ventricles -> Trabecular carni
During Systole what is open and closed?
Open = Bicuspid
Closed = Tricuspid
What are the 4 valves of the heart ?
Tricuspid (mitral) = 3 cusps, lower sternum, xiphisternum
Bicuspid = 2 cusps, apex
Pulmonary valve = 3 cusps, behind of sternum left side
Aortic valve = 3 cusps, 1st + 2nd intercostal space
Where does the right coronary artery run?
Anterior of aorta and runs in anterior coronary sulcus then continues in coronary culcus on inf. surface and anastomoses with L.coronary
What does the right coronary supply?
Anterior of the right atrium, most of r.ventricle, lower of left atrium, part of L.ventricle, conducting tissue, SA node
What does the right coronary supply?
Anterior of the right atrium, most of r.ventricle, lower of left atrium, part of L.ventricle, conducting tissue, SA node
What does the phrenic nerve?
Supplies the diaphragm
Right: Runs with vena cava + pieces diaphragm
What do the obliques do?
Trunk rotation
Flexion
What does the Pyrimadalis do?
Increases abdominal pressure
What does the Glenohumeral joint do?
Laterally adducts and medially roates and extends arm
What does the Crura do?
Crura - connects diaphragm to lumbar spine
What does the Crura do?
Crura - connects diaphragm to lumbar spine
Main points about the stomach?
Intraperitoneal
Rugae - folds to allow stomach expansion
Pylorus - connects to duodenum, sphinchtor prevents backflow
Supplied by branches from Coeliac Trunk -> left gastric, common hepatic, splenic artery
