Name the types of teeth.
Incisors, molars, pre molars and canines.
Name the functions of the teeth.
To digest food( chew), to help us speak properly and they are attractive.
Give the function of the incisors?
Sharp teeth used to cut and bite food.
Give the function for canines?
Pointed teeth uses to tear food.
Give the function for pre molars?
Double pointed teeth used to chew and grind food.
Give the function for molars?
Large teeth used to chew and grind food.
What is the part of the tooth we can see?
The crown
What is the part of the tooth we cannot see?
The root.
What is the enamel of the tooth?
A hard substance that protects the tooth.
What is the Dentine?
A bone like substance under the enamel.
What is the pulp cavity?
A space I the centre of the tooth that contains blood vessels and nerves.
What is the cementum?
A layer around the tooth which holds it in place.
What are the Periodental fibres?
These hold the tooth in the bone.
What is plaque?
Plaque is made up of bacterial, saliva and food and if not removed it can cause tartar.
What is tartar?
Hardened plaque.
