What is a synagogue?
A meeting place for Jews. It is where they pray, celebrate, study and meet together. Orthodox and reform Jews have differences in their synagogues. Services are in Hebrew and English for reform but only Hebrew in Orthodox synagogues.

Ashkenazi Jews refer to their synagogue as shul - yiddish for (school).

Town hall - matters can be discussed
Collecting and dispensing money and other items.

A Jewish leader of a synagogue - chosen by synagogue community
Provides teachers + provides, spiritual religious guidance.
