What are the different levels of Diotima’s ladder?
Stage 1: Begins as a young boy by being attracted to beautiful bodies (one beautiful body in particular)
Stage 2: Recognize that all bodies are relatively similar and that it is foolish to love only one body in particular so that the boy will be able to love beautiful bodies
Stage 3: Appreciate the beauty of minds and love those who are beautiful in mind even if they are not beautiful
Stage 4: Recognize the beauty in practices and laws. See that all beauty is similar and come to love beauty in general and not just beauty of bodies
