The skeletal muscles responsible for moving the eyeball
Extrinsic eye muscles
Region that carries sound waves to the tympanic membrane (eardrum)
Extrenal auditory canal
An eye disease caused when the pressure of fluid inside the eyeball slowly rises, leading to vision loss or blindness if untreated. It can be treated with special eye drops
Glaucoma
Taste receptors that are found on the taste buds
Gustatory receptors

Hyperopia
The colored part of the eye, made of muscular tissue that contracts and relaxes, altering the size of the pupil
Iris
A gland in the eye that produces tears
Lacrimal gland
A progressive disease that occurs when the retina no longer receives an adequate blood supply. It is the leading cause of vision loss and blindness in people over age 65
Muscular degeneration
The inability to see distant objects as clearly as near objects. Also called “nearsightedness”
Myopia
A structure located in the medical aspect of each eyeball, and which drains tears into the nose
Nasolacrimal Duct
Relating to he sense of smell
Olfactory
Cranial nerve that carries impulses from the retina of the eye to the brain
Optic nerve
