The solar system and beyond (Ms. Bird) Flashcards
What is the equator?
The equator is a line that separates the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere.
The Earth orbits the Sun.
How many days does it take to do one ful turn around it and what is it known as?
It takes 365 days + ¼ and is known as a YEAR.
The moon orbits the Earth.
How many days does it take to do one full turn around it and what is it known as?

The Southern hemisphere.
How many planets are there in the Solar System?
There are 8 planets in our Solar System.
Which one of these planets is the closest to the Sun:
Uranus, Mars, Mercury or Earth?
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun.
Which is the smallest planet out of these 8:
Venus, Neptune, Mars, Earth, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus or Jupiter?
Mercury.
Which is the biggest planet out of these 8:
Venus, Neptune, Mars, Earth, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus or Jupiter?
Jupiter.
In order from the closest to the Sun to the farthest to the Sun, classify the planets of the Solar System.
1) Mercury, 2) Venus, 3) Earth, 4) Mars, 5) Jupiter, 6) Saturn, 7) Uranus, 8) Neptune.
