Load a firearm only when ready to fire
(there’s never a need to walk around with a loaded firearm, get to a position, check surrounds, confirm target area and then load)
What is rule FOUR?
ID check….
Identify your target beyond all doubt
(make sure your target it is what you think it is. 100% certainty is beyond all doubt…. 99% certainty and it’s not worth the risk)
What is rule FIVE?
ZONE….
Check your firing zone
(think of this as, where will it go if I miss… will it hit a tree, rock, open field, mountain, water, any cars, could there be a hunter behind there)
What is rule SIX?
Keep it …
Store firearms and ammunition safely
(Do you want the teenagers in your family thinking they are gangster with a REAL firearm while you’re not there to stop them? or could a criminal steal it and use it on you?)
What is rule SEVEN?

Avoid alcohol or drugs when handling firearms
This increases the chances of poor decisions and lapses in judgement regardless of a persons intentions
