When was the Second Moroccan Crisis?

What happened in 1911?
A rebellion broke out against the Moroccan Sultan
What did the sultan do in response to the rebellion?
He appealed to the French for help therefore the French sent an army to Morocco to help crush the rebellion
What did the Kaiser do in response to the French army?
He sent a gunboat called the ‘Panther’ to the Moroccan port of Agadir to ‘protect German interests’
What did the French demand that the Germans withdraw?
The Panther
Why did Britain back the French in withdrawing the ‘Panther’?
The British were worried that the Germans might turn Agadir into a naval base
What was the result of the second Moroccan crisis?
The Germans backed down and accepted French control of Morocco and in result were given two strips of land in the middle of the French Congo
Why was the Entente Cordiale strengthened?
Britain and France felt threatened by what they saw was an increasingly aggressive side of German action
What had Germany not felt that they had been given?
Respect and they were determined to never back down ever again
