A

They falsely testified against Jesus as they didn’t have a case against Jesus, but they already decided that he was guilty and wanted him put to death.

A

The Sanhedrin had no power to execute Jesus, so they had to convince the Romans to do it. Jesus was trussed up like a dangerous criminal when they brought him before the Roman governor.

A

It is assumed so because Pontius only cared for poltical affair not religious ones. The Sanhedrin had to change Jesus’ crime so that he would be punished.

Was it Pontius Pilate’s fault that Jesus was crucified?

A

No, because Pilate was trying to stop a riot from occurring by giving the people what they wanted: Jesus’ death. The chief priest had manipulated the crowd into wanting Jesus crucified and Barabbus set free.
Also it was all part of God’s plan as he needed to die- Pilate was just a vessel that was needed to allow the pln to go ahead.

The Romans led by Pilate were the ones who carried out the crucifixion. And Pilate was responsible as he was weak as he was swayed by the crowd to do their bidding.
