What happens during a Baptism?
A
- Candidate is baptised with water
- Then is wrapped in a white garment

Why is Baptism important?
A
- Welcomes people into the religion
- Cleanses people from Original Sin

What happens during Reconciliation?
A
- Candidate confesses sins whilst priest listens
- The contrition (sorrow for sins) happens and then absolution (sins are taken away)

A
- Grave sins are forgiven (serious)
- Venial sins are forgiven (minor)

What happens during the Eucharist?
A
- Transubstantiation takes place (bread & wine changes into body & blood of Jesus)

- We receive Jesus
- Venial sins are forgiven when we receive
the eucharist

A
- Bishop lays hands on the Confirmed person.
- Anointed with oil of Chrism (sign of being claimed by Christ)

- They become an adult member of the Church
- They are sealed with the Holy Spirit

- Exchanging vows/rings

- A man and woman are joined together for life by God
- They promise to be faithful to each other until ‘death do us part’

- Bishop lays hands on the ordained man.
- Anointed with oil

- A man becomes a priest
- They can now celebrate the sacraments
