Q

Name and describe 2 ways that analytics is used in injury prevention
(give benefits and/or drawbacks if necessary)

A

Vibration therapy:
-low frequency mechanical stimulation of muscle areas to aid exercise recovery and rehabilitation
-increase muscle mass/power
-improved circulation
-reduced effect of DOMS

Electrostimulation:
-impulses are generated bu a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin in direct proximity to the muscles to be stimulated
-good for rehabilitation
-increase strength and power
-Long term exposure can cause saturation of muscles so that will limit the effects gained

Q

How are analytics used in game analysis
(Think coaches and players)

A

-Use of quantitative data
-Video is captured and analysed in real time to provide feedback to coaches and players during games
-Used in hopes of gaining a competitive advantage over opponents
-Coaches use data to make/change tactics and strategies
