A

They tricked the leader of the Irish Volunteers Eoin MacNeill showing him the castle document in this document it said the British government were planing to disarm the Irish Volunteers this then convinced Eoin MacNeill to join the movement. Q

Tell me what happens when the rising goes ahead.

A

Even though the Irish Volunteers pulled out the rising still went ahead. The people taking part in it knew it would be a failure but took part hoping it could inspire the Irish people. On the morining 1,500 volunteers took over key buildings in Dublin city centre and the GPO became the headquarters. This is where Pearse read out the proclamation of the Irish Independance. Another plan for the rising was to try capture Dublin Castle in here it had all infromation about Britain.
