What is the respiratory system ?
The system that gets oxygen to the cells in your body and carbon dioxide out of your body
What is the trachea ?
The wind pipe
When the trachea reaches the lungs what does it split into ?
2 bronchus, that then split into smaller bronchioles
What do alveoli do ?
Carry out gas exchange in the body
What passes in and out of Alveoli ?
Oxygen goes from the Alveoli into the small capillaries, carbon dioxide comes from the capillaries into the alveoli
How does oxygen travel from the alveoli into the capillaries ?
Through diffusion, there is a high concentration of oxygen in the alveoli and a low concentration in the capillaries
Bob takes 91 breaths in 7 minuets, how many breaths per minute is he taking ?
91/7 = 13 breaths per minute
What are some adaptations of the alveoli ?
lots of capillaries near for diffusion. There are lots of them for more diffusion. Moist and large surface area for more diffusion
