What are the main parts of the respiratory system?
Trachea, Bronchi, Bronchioles, Alveoli, Intercostal Muscles, Diaphragm, Ribs
What happens when you breath in?
Your diaphragm goes down. The ribs move up & out and the lungs inflate.
What happens when you exhale?
The ribs go in and down. The diaphragm goes up and the lungs deflate
What’s the difference between the air you breath in and out
Since your body converts oxygen into carbon some there will be less oxygen and more carbon when you breath out.
What happens at the alveoli?
It’s where the oxygen and Carbon Dioxide get switched.
How do you test for Carbon Dioxide?
You get some lime water and it will turn a milky cloudy grey if there’s Carbon Dioxide
What is the addicting drug in cigarettes?
Nicotine
What is the poisonous gas in cigarettes?
Carbon Monoxide
What lung diseases can you get from smoking?
Lung Cancer, Bronchitus
