What is a patron
Someone who pays an artist to produce a work of art.
Why were patrons so important
They were rich, so they could pay for the best architects, painters and sculptors to make their cities beautiful.
What does Renaissance mean
A time when people began to take a new interest in the world of Ancient Greece and Rome.
What does humanism mean
The renewed interest in ancient learning/ The Renaissance way of looking at the world.

Renaissance painting
➖Artists began to make pictures more lifelike during the Renaissance. ➖They started to use perspective(size of object against background), sfumato(blending), they added linseed oil to their paint to make it dry slowly.
➖Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 in Vinci near Florence.
