Under Brehon law women could own property. They could be queens and warriors too. However most women did not belong to noble classes. They had little power so they spent most of their time cooking, weaving , sewing and taking care of children.

Four types of Celtic settlements are Raths, Crannógs, Hillforts and Promontory forts. Raths were forts enclosed by ditches. They were mainly made from timber.
Describe farming in Celtic Ireland.
The farmers were the biggest group in the tuath. They grew crops and looked after animals. The whole tuath depended on them to supply food.
How did the Celts dress?
Rich men and women wore linen tunics. In winter they wore woollen cloaks. Poor men wore wool trousers and women wore a wool tunic.
