Why did the Bolsheviks lose the support of the workers and countryside?
The conditions in cities and countryside becomes worse because of the Bolsheviks so the people became more frustrated with them
What triggered the Red Terror?
An assassination attempt on Lenin in 1918
What happened to other political parties?
Mensheviks, Social revolutionaries and anarchists and others were arrested and 500,000 were executed
What happened to the bourgeois?
They were targeted and killed.
What caused the Tambov revolt?
There was famine and requisitioning in the countryside caused peasant revolts
What caused the Kronstadt Rising?
There were more food rations, which led to strikes and riots in the cities. This caused the Kronstadt base to go against the Bolsheviks
What happened to the Tambov revolt?
An army of 70,000 peasants rose up against government forces which spread to south east Russia till 1921
100,000 Red Army soldiers crushed the revolt and destroyed whole villages
What happened to the Kronstadt Rising?
Trotsky sent the Red Army and 15,000 revels were imprisoned and the ringleaders were shot
What happened in the Bolsheviks Party after the Kronstadt Rosing?
There were uprisings. The Workers Opposition group was set up to protect workers rights and oppose the continuation of workers communism. They thought the Bolshevik leadership was becoming too authoritarian and was straying far from the original mission
