The rate of Photosynthesis Flashcards
1
Q
What is a limiting factor?
A
A 3 key things plants need to grow, if there is a short supply of one of them it is called a limiting factor
2
Q
What are the 3 limiting factors?
A
Light, Temperature and Carbon dioxide
3
Q
What happens when light is brighter?
A
A faster rate of photosynthesis
4
Q
What happens when the temperature is 40-50?
A
The enzymes you need for photosynthesis will become denatured
5
Q
What is the most common limiting factor and why?
A
Carbon dioxide, because CO2 levels rise at night and plants don’t do photosynthesis, as light and temperature rise in the morning CO2 is used up then.
