A most well renowned German philosopher of all time known for his work Being and Time.
Martin Heidegger
The process of bringing forth.
Poiesis
It means revealing.
Aletheia
4 causes of means
- Causa Materialis
- Causa Formulis
- Causa Finalis
- Causa Efficiens
It belongs to the verb cadere, to fall, and means that which brings it about that something falls out as a result in such and such a way.
Causa
It is a poiesis (bringing forth) that discloses or reveals (aletheia) the truth.
Technology (Techne)
Its revealing is not a bringing-forth, but a challenging-forth.
Modern Technology
It is the opposite of bringing forth. It challenges nature, by extracting something from it and transforming it, storing it up, distributing it, etc. We use and manipulate resources nature give to us to manufacture, to create, or to reveal
technology that is man-made.
Challenging-forth
It is an orientation or attitude of humans on how they see the world. We look at nature how it is going to fit in our needs rather than how we fit to nature.
Enframing (Gestell)
It is translated as “aim” and purpose” that is responsible for what as matter and what as aspect are together co-responsible for the sacrificial vessel.
Telos
It means lying before and lying ready which characterizes the presenting of something that is present.
Hypokeisthai
The arising of something out of itself.
Physis
It is considered to be the fundamental characteristic of technology.
Instrumentality
It means knowing in the widest sense and to be entirely at home in something, to understand and be expert in it.
Episteme
Whatever is ordered about in this way has its own standing and assumes the rank on an inclusive rubric.
