Most radical puritan group that wanted to be independent and run its own affairs without interference from government

Puritan priests refused to follow the rules to wear vestments so priests lost their jobs

Challenged the religious settlement as he wanted to introduce the Presbyterian church so he was fired from his job and forced to leave england

Anonymous pamphlets that attacked the church and bishops so Protestants wrote pamphlets against puritan views which lost puritan support

He proposed a bill in parliament for the introduction of a new book of common prayer, the banning of vestments and and the use of a ring in marriage
