Q

How successful was the PG at dealing with the war?

A

At first reforming the PG was good as they were no longer in crisis. The socialist government however were easily persuaded into making decisions. Although their decision of the summer offensive could be seen as successful as it gave the middle class a reason to fight but it did not appeal to the soldiers

A

Increasing the price the government bought grain for didn’t help as the peasants were reluctant to give it up as there was nothing to buy with the money they were given. Punishment brigades also made peasants hostile
