The process of human-centered interactive systems desgin Flashcards
Understand scenarios & design principles
What are user stories?
- Real-world experience, ideas, anecdotes
- Capture:
+ Small snippets of activities and the context that they occur
+ Seemingly trivial details - Usually rich in context
How to create conceptual scenarios?
Moving from the details to a more general description that still manages to catch the essence of the activity
What is aggregation?
The process of treating the whole thing as a single entity rather than looking at the components
What is classification?
The process of recognizing that it’s easier to collect and deal with a class of things (more abstract)
What is conceptual scenario used for?
- Generating design ideas
- Understand system requirements
How to build concrete scenarios?
- Based on conceptual scenarios (each can generate many concrete scenarios)
- Identify some features that apply under certain circumstances
What is an use case?
Describe the interaction between user and the system
what people do and what the system does
What are scenarios?
Stories about people undertaking activities in contexts using technologies
Why are scenarios important?
- Core technique for interactive system design
- Helpful for understanding, envisioning, evaluation (for both conceptual and physical design)
What are 3 important concepts for a good design?
- Accessibility
- Usability
- Acceptability
What is accessibility?
Removing the barriers that would exclude someone from using the system
What is usability?
Quality of interactions (time to perform tasks number of errors made,..etc)
What is acceptability?
Refers to the fitness for context of use
