Speaker and Listener
What is a complex process involving various of elements that work together to convey messages from one person or entity to another?
Communication
Who initiates the conversation, their purpose is to convey information, thoughts, or feelings to the receiver.
Speaker
Is the content or information that the sender wants to communicate
Message
Receives the end of the communication
Listener
Is the medium or method used to transmit the message from the sender to the receiver.
Channel
Based on the interpretation of the listener
Response
Is the response or reaction provided by the receiver to the sender’s message.
Feedback
Refers to any interference or distortion that can disrupt the communication process.
Noise
Is external to both the sender and receiver and typically involves environmental factors that hinder communication.
Physical Noise
Occurs when there is a discrepancy or misunderstanding related to the meaning of words or symbols used in the message.
Semantic Noise
Refers to internal distractions and mental factors that affect communication.
Psychological Noise
Involves physical factors within the human body that hinder communication.
Physiological Noise
Arises within an organization and can be due to structural or procedural issues
Organizational Noise
Related to language differences and the use of technical jargon or specialized terminology that is not understood by all parties involved
Semantic Barriers
Results from strong emotional states that affect one’s ability to communicate or receive a message objectively.
Emotional Noise
Such as distance or obstructions, can prevent or limit communication.
Physical Barrier

How clearly and accurately the words are articulated and pronounced.
