what is the core executive?
the complex network of institutions charged with the day-to-day governing of the country. the membership is liable to change. In theory led by cabinet in reality led by PM
what is the role of the executive
to make policies and administer laws.
what is cabinet and what does it do?
cabinet is the group of most senior minister chosen by the PM and are at the centre of British politics. In theory they are the key decision-making body within the executive however today it appears to be PM driven.
for a small cabinet
eg war small cabinet is necessary
this led to the suggestion of all the time because then:
departmental ministers only attending when their input is necessary but 5/6 there all the time
free from departmental responsibility
meet more frequently
easier for pm
able to create coordinated policy
