Q

Why is it difficult to rely on one measure of development? E.g. just looking at life expectancy.

A

Using just one measure of development can be misleading, and it is often better to use more than one. For example, Zimbabwe is a low-income country, but 84% of people living there can read and write.

How does poverty cycle work?

A

Once you are poor it will be hard to find work to do then it will be hard to get food and then you will have nothing and still be poor

20
Q

How does microfinance help people in LICs?

A

Microfinance helps the people in LICs by giving them a small amount of cash to start a business and then then they can pay it back with an interest of course but they can still pay it back once they have got the cash. It can also keep their money safe as there must be a lot of robberies in a poor place.
