The plague made trade drop. Population decrease so less people for jobs and less people in a certain skill. It was a great time for grave diggers who made a lot of money during this time.

The plague started in Mongolia. It traveled though china. Then with the help of fast chips and the Silk Road it got to Sicily. Then it traveled from south to north in Europe with isolated pockets being spared.
