What were the causes of the plague?
A
Yersinia pestis in gut of flea, flea bites rat, rat dies, flea moves to human, human dies

What things were done to try to prevent the spread?
A
Cats & dogs were killed
Rowdy coffee shops and pubs closed
Women had to check that the dead were actually dead
No one was allowed in or out of an affected house for a week.
Rubbish cleared from streets

Symptoms for five days….
A
1) buboes in armpits and groin
2) vomit / fever
3) bleeding under skin
4) attacks nervous system- spasms
5) buboes burst of death

Bodily fluids from infected people

A
Coughing, air
