How were slaves first used? (How did the plantations get them?)
- British businessmen traded guns and alcohol with tribes, in return for them capturing neighbouring tribes.
- The captured tribes were then taken to to West coast of Africa and put on crowded ships.
- Shipped across atlantic to west indies and Caribbean.
- Auctioned to plantations
