The Periodic Table Flashcards

1
Q

How did Mendeleev arrange the elements?

A

He began with sorting them into groups of elements with similar properties.
He then arranged them by atomic mass and a pattern appeared, he then put elements with similar properties in columns.
A few elements need up in wrong columns so he left gaps for elements that may not have been discovered
