Cerumenous glands that produce ear wax and Sebaceous glands that produce sebum
The inner 1/2 of the canal contains which gland?
Apocrine glands that maintain moisture and acidity levels of the canal
What does the ‘P’ in PAL stand for?
Protection - the ear canal is protected by hair, the bent shape of the canal, by temperature and climate
What does the ‘A’ in PAL stand for?
Amplification - the shape of the pinna means that some sounds pass through better than others, this is known as resonance
What does the ‘L’ in PAL stand for?
Localisation - this helps the brain determine where sound is arriving from.
