The Oneness of God 3301 Lesson 1 Flashcards
From Romans 1:17, what does the phrase “…revealed from faith to faith…” mean?
God reveals truth to men and expects men to pass that truth on to others
Who is the image of God?
The Son
From Colossians 2:9; is Jesus a part of the Godhead? If no, please explain
No, in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead.
According to II Corinthians 4:4; why would the god of the world (Satan) even worry about blinding man’s eyes from Jesus Christ if Jesus was only a man?
He wouldn’t
Jesus was the only begotten of the Father. How was humanity used to fulfill the plan of God? What is origin of Jesus?
Humanity was used to birth Him, but the eternal God was His origin, not man.
What did Stephen see as he looked into the heavens in Acts 7:55-56
He saw the “Glory of God” and Jesus standing on the right hand of God
Does the vision that Stephen saw in the heavens show any separation at all in the Godhead? Explain
Stephen did not see two persons in the heavens; he saw the Glory of God surrounding Jesus, who was in a position of supreme power and authority
Jesus was said to be seen sitting on the right hand of God. Does this mean that was literally on the ”right side God”? If not, explain.
No, it is the seat of honor. Jesus Christ as the Son, or in his humanity, was given the highest place possible. He is not positioned on the right side of another person
Give a Jewish explanation of the phrases “the right hand” and “the left hand”.
The right hand is the hand of power and authority. To be left handed is considered a weakness.
Using the “light bulb illustration”, explain how God is the glory that you see in Jesus, but what you see is Jesus?
The filament is inside, but it is the bulb that you see
