What were the NBT?
A
- A large number of women were accused (some men).
- They were charged with fraternising with the devil.
(This was a unique trial however, due to the involvement of royalty - King James VI.)

Witch hunting in Scotland compared to England?
A
It was much more widespread and intense in Scotland than England. This was due to the less complex system of government they had, therefore allowing for more trials to be taken place by non-officials with no interference, i.e. Neighbours of the accused.
