What does the term Black Land mean?
Black land was the land that was covered each time the Nile flooded.
How was the Nile formed?
The Nile is formed by the joining of two rivers, the White Nile and the Blue Nile, which flow north from the wet highlands of central Africa.

Blue Nile is the other river that makes up some of the Nile that is fed from the wet highlands in central Africa.
Why is Egypt referred to as the “Gift of the Nile”?
The country Egypt is called the “Gift of the Nile” as it is Egypt’s lifeline. Without the Nile, Egypt would have been a desert. Historically, the Nile has provided water for the cultivation of crops in Egypt.
Who is Tutankhamun?
Tutankhamun was a pharaoh who ruled Egypt from 1332 to 1323 B.C. He was born 1341 BCE, and only 9 years old when he became pharaoh. He married his sister who was the previous pharaoh.
Who is Hatshepsut?
Hatshepsut was a controversial Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty and ruled during the New Kingdom Period in Ancient Egypt. She came to power in about 1490BCE.
What was controversial about Hatshepsut’s reign?
Hatshepsut’s role was controversial as she was a women in a male role.
What was Hatshepsut known for?
