Lone parents; good or bad thing? and why?
Bad : This is because it is unnatural and can harm the children because they cannot discipline their children properly and are dependent on the welfare state. It could also leave boys without an adult role model depending on which parent is not around.
Mothers working; good or bad thing? and why?
Bad : Women should be taking care of their family as their first priority.
Marriage; good or bad thing? and why?
Good : It is essential for creating a stable environment in which children can be brought up properly. without it and the like of cohabitation and divorce in the way parents may want to lack responsibility and commitment as its easier to avoid, this has negative effects on children.
What does Amato (2000) believe about breakdowns of family?
They create great risk of poverty, educational, health and crime problems for the children and also an increased chance of a family breakdown when they become adults themselves
