What are the reasons for the New deal not being a success? (9 reasons)
- Recovery was slow
- By the end of the 1930’s unemployment remained higher than it was in 1929
- Real recovery came after the second world war in 1941
- Many jobs provided were temporary and relied on federal funding
- Many small farmers weren’t entitled to farming benefits
- Lots of Americans were excluded from provisions made under the new deal
- Still Maldistribution of wealth
- Little achieved in regards to civil rights
- Many thought it was a betrayal of US values, communist sympathies

- Resources and services developed
- Businesses stopped failing
- Provided food and shelter for the poor
- Incomes rose and opportunities grew
