A

Allowed (before 24 weeks) if two doctors agree that:

  • the mother’s life is at risk
  • the mother’s physical or mental health is at risk
  • the child is likely to be born severely handicapped
  • there would be an effect on other children in the family

  • Should medical staff have to carry out abortions if they believe it is unethical?
