Define F.A.R.M.S.C
Function: to inform, persuade, entertain etc.
Audience: who is the text aimed at/who is it targeted towards
Register: informal, formal, semi-formal, mostly informal etc.
Mode/domain: how does it communicate? handwritten, spoken, digital, sign etc.
Social purpose:
Context: what is happening - time, place, background info etc.
What are the 5 text types
narrative: tell a story, typically in chronological order.
descriptive: of a single element, object, place, etc.
argumentative: present a point of view, takes a side.
instructive: teach, show.
expository: explain, inform or compare.
define Authorial Intent
what an author intends to do or achieve with a text. Authorial intent influences the language that is used within a text as well as its level of preparedness.
