Who was involved?
The Nazi party, Adolf Hitler, General Ludendorff and Kahr.
How many Nazis were there?
They had 55,000 members and their own private army, the SA
Why did it happen?
Hitler believed that democracy only lead to weak government. They thought only one leader should rule
What happened before?
Kahr once believed the Putsch would work but then realised it couldn’t. Therefore Hitler and 600 of his SA held Kahr at gunpoint and forced him to agree
What was the Putsch?
The Nazis went to take over a military base but Kahr told the authorities about Hitlers revolt. When they met the police killed 16 nazi soldiers
What happened to Hitler?
He was captured and sent to prison for 5 years. After 9 months however, the judge released him.
