What does the Orthopantomogram (OPG) assess
Jaw and teeth
What is pulpitis due to? Treatment
Dental decay (“caries”)
Reversible pulpitis = filling
Extraction (tooth removal) = irreversible pulpitis
What are dental absesses usually due to?
Death of a tooth.
aNTIBIOTICS then root canal treatment or extraction of the tooth
What can untreated absesses go on to cause?
A Fascial space infection (between layers of fascia - usually no spcae but pus can collect there and cause it)

Trismus meaning
Difficulty opening the mouth
Trismus (reduced mouth opening)
-Pain
-Paraesthesia of CN V3
-Sublingual Haematoma
-Deranged occlusion
