What is a miracle?
- An external event which goes beyond the powers of nature and in which one seeks the work of God
- A kind of sign, an instrument of God for transmitting his message
- The healing power of Jesus is part of his ministry

- Showed that “God is with us” & Jesus is willing to participate in human life
- Jesus has the power & authority over elements of the world (water—> wine)
- Jesus did all these to response to his mother’s request
- Mary’s empathy & confidence were shown, directed towards the welfare of the others
- Jesus reveled His divinity to His disciples
What can we learn from the miracle of Jesus feeding 5000 people?
- The disciples need not worry about food or drink, Jesus will feed them
- Jesus will give it to you if you ask him, trust him
- Jesus made use of what was available
- Jesus thanked god and blessed the loaves and fishes
- The food was sufficient for all. Jesus satisfied the needs of all people. Jesus was the bread of life
