He told the people to : “Turn away from their sins and be baptized and then God would forgive them.”

- Prepared the way for Jesus
- Pointed out the wrongdoings in the society
Describe the death of John the Baptist
- Imprisoned because he told Herod Antipas many times that it was not right to marry his brother’s wife, Herodias.
- Herodias wanted to kill John but Herod protected him because he knew John was a good man.
- Herod made a rash promise to Herodias’ daughter at a party and gave the order to behead John.
List TWO qualities of John and give examples
- Humble; He acknowledged that he was totally unworthy to approach Jesus.
- Simple; He was clothed in camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist.
