- The crowds laid down their cloaks for him, waved palms and exclaimed ‘Hosanna!’
What happened on Maundy Thurday
- Jesus washed the feet of the disciples
- When Jesus shared the Last Supper with the disciples
What happened on Good Friday
- Jesus is condemned to death
- Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross
What happens on Holy Saturday
- Jesus is in the tomb
- Jesus descends to hell to save the people who were born before he came to save the world from sin
What happens on Easter Sunday
Jesus rises from the dead
What was the Cleansing of the Temple
- Jesus and his disciples were traveling to Jerusalem for passover
- Jesus finds that in the temple the merchants were taking advantage of the people who were paying to make sacrifices to God
- Jesus accuses the merchants of turning the temple into a ‘den of thieves’
What happens at the Last Supper
- Jesus shared bread and wine with the disciples and said that would become him body and blood.
- He asked them to continue celebrating the Eucharistic meal together: ‘do this in memory of me’
What is the Penitential Rite
The part of mass where we say sorry for our sins

What is the Offertory
The part of mass whereby gifts of bread and wine and other gifts of religious symbolism are given to the priest
What is the Eucharistic Prayer and Consecration
A prayer of thanksgiving to God, and in which the bread and
wine are turned into the body and blood of Christ
What is the blessing & dismissal
The Priest blesses the people and sends them out to spread the good news
What are the main reasons for going to mass?
- To receive communion
- To obey what Jesus asked at the Last Supper, “Do this in memory of me”

- To ask for forgiveness
