The society of St Vincent de Paul
A group of catholic students led by Fredric Ozanam founded the society.
They started the SVP because they were inspired by the work and teachings of St Vincent de Paul.
They named it after him because of all the teachings he did.
The aims of the society are to tackle poverty to help people through their rough times.
Conferences are based on local parishes or schools, they meet regularly to review their work.
Conferences help people in the UK by helping them release negativity.
Youth SVPs do voluntary work, develop their faith and develop their spirituality.
The five things SVPs do are visit prisoners, community projects, social justice, overseas aid and youth work.
