It aimed to discourage aggression from any nation, encourage countries to cooperate in business and trade, encourage nations to disarm and improve living and working conditions.

1. Freed 200,00 slaves in Africa
2. Worked to prevent Malaria and Leprosy
   3.Took home half a million prisoners of WW1
3. Set up camps and fed Turkish Refugees
4. Closed down swiss companies for selling drugs

Failures of the LON

Answer 3

1. Set up an independent commission which failed which failed to get agreement on disarmament
2. Poland took land from Russian (breaks the treaty)
   3.International Labour Organization failed to persuade countries to adopt a 48 hour work week
3. Kellog Briand Pact (1928): ignored how 65 countries signed a treaty to end war
