Leads to glomerulonephritis ± small vessel vasculitis due to immune complex formation

(IE: bacterial (or fungal) infection on cardiac valves)

Renal involvement suggested by:
Abnormal urea/creatinine
Haematuria, red cell casts
Reduced complement levels
